You are God’s Treasure

Passage: 2 Corinthians 4:7

Everyone born again, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb is God’s treasure because you carry within you God’s power. Inside of you is a great potential, a phenomenal power which is not our own power but deposited by the Holy Spirit of God.

Acts 1:8 says and you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. This power is just evidenced by speaking in tongues but the totality of its effect is that it enables us to be the best in whatever we endeavour. The all surpassing power in us to be the best we can be is from God and not from us.
Ephesians 2:8-9, states that the origin of our walk with God which is our salvation is by the grace of God and a gift of God, not by our own doing, power or might. When you receive Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and Saviour, there is a transformation that takes place. God quickens you, by making you have the consciousness of your sinful state. Many people are not born again today because their spirit has not been quickened to realize that they are living in sin. It is the Holy Spirit that convicts or quickens a sinner of his sinful state. Ephesians 2:1 says we were dead in trespasses and sin, so anyone not born again is not alive spiritually, cannot reason or realize because he or she is dead in trespass and sin. For our loved ones and anyone we are believing God for their salvation, we need to pray for their spirit to be quickened or made alive.
After giving our lives to Christ we must be filled with the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands, or by impartation through prayers. Many Christians cannot access the power of God that makes them a treasure if they are not filled with the Holy Spirit.

HAVE THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF BEING GOD’S TREASURE

The greatest tragedy that can befall a person is not to know who you are. When you do not realize who you are, what resources are available to you, the potential within you can never be maximized. As God’s treasure you need to realize the following:

A Treasure has Value
You are valuable. No matter what your present circumstances are in life, never think or call yourself useless. It does not matter the predicament, failure, pain, rejection or whatever you have or are currently going through, HEAR THIS: YOU ARE VALUABLE! As a treasure your value may not be overtly seen or visible but though your worth may not be seen in your face value, but embedded within you is God’s might, power, dominion and creative ability.

A Treasure has Ability to Achieve.
Having realized that you have value you must carry that consciousness with you always. Tell yourself that you can achieve that thing, you can finish that program, you can write that book, you can succeed in that marriage, and you can do that thing that has been laid in your heart, because you can do all things through Christ that strengthens you. You have a can-do spirit within you, so unleash your potential, believe that it can be done, let faith arise in you.

A Treasure Appreciates in Value.
As God’s treasure you must appreciate in value. What is your plan to improve yourself? You should have an investment plan, developmental plan, your plan to better yourself and your work. Build up yourself, Jude: 20 says building up your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. Do not be complacent or rest on your oars. Soaking in your old glory. Apostle Paul says I press on. One of the ways to appreciate in value is for you to polish your brand. Find out what your brand is and promote it.

A Treasure brings Forth Good Things – Matthew 12 v 35
You are treasure so:

BE BOLD BE STRONG.

Hebrews 4 v 16 says let us therefore come BOLDLY…..One of the most important attributes of a winner in life is boldness. When you are bold it connotes that you have absolute confidence in yourself or the subject matter before you. When you are timid, unsure of yourself you cannot achieve great feats in life. Let your confidence burst forth. Unleash your gifting, be self confident, do not be afraid. Confidently go after your divine resources, in Matthew 21 v 2 – 3, Jesus told his disciples to unloose a colt for him, and they confidently got it without opposition.

HAVE AUDACITY
In Matthew 21 v 12, Jesus had the audacity to evict the sellers there because he had taken the rightful position. Take the rightful position in your life. Do not allow or let others define who you are or what you stand for. Chase out your fears and your shortcomings and other moneychangers and illegal occupants in your life and destiny, get rid of low self esteem, self pity or inferiority complex and audaciously let a new you arise this year. Have audacity and go after that dream, start that new plan, do that thing you have forever been planning but lacking in will to execute – DO IT NOW!

DO NOT BE COMMON
Treasures are usually scarce or uncommon. Gold, diamonds etc are not as common as sand, so they carry higher value, as a treasure, you must jettison habits that cheapen or make you common or worthless. Do not fight openly, shout in public, be engaged in undignified behaviour. Talk less and listen more, exhibit maturity and not foolishness.

Shalom.
